Hello, we're Emma and Matt, the proud new owners of Ashby Boat Company since April of this year. We're super excited to have taken on this new adventure having both previously worked in the world of teaching.
Based in the beautiful Midlands and nestled along the tranquil Ashby Canal, we’re here to help boat owners as well as those heading out on their first journey to enjoy life on the water.
We take great pride in our fleet of 8 fully equipped narrowboats which are suitable for day trips, short breaks or longer holidays and we look forward to welcoming you to our boatyard soon!
History
Ashby Boat Company has been operating for 35+ years with a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and traditional values. Its roots are deep in the heritage of the English canal system with it being established along the peaceful banks of the Ashby Canal in Leicestershire. The company was built on a passion for traditional narrow boating and quality craftsmanship. From humble beginnings as a small family-run business, Ashby Boat Company has grown steadily into a trusted name in the boating community — known for our attention to detail, hands-on experience, and friendly service. Over the years, it has proudly supported generations of boaters, and remains committed to keeping Britain’s canal culture alive.
Come and say hello
We are based in Stoke Golding in the heart of the English countryside. We offer a welcoming spot to not only collect your canal boat for hire but also to rest and recharge. We have tea, coffee, and snacks available to enjoy in our outdoor seating area. Our boatyard also has a number of essential boating items for purchase which include diesel, gas, water refill, and mooring equipment.
We also offer additional services including rubbish disposal, chemical waste disposal, pump outs and wet dock / tent hire so if you're passing through we've got everything you could need to help keep your journey comfortable and hassle-free.
