Looking to plan a few relaxing days on the water? You're in luck! Starting from our boatyard you are connected to a whole system of inland canals, rivers and waterways. Given time and inclination, you can voyage to any part of the canal system with an excellent variety of cruising routes. Please check your route before departure for any closures or works that might be happening.

Snarestone

This is the most popular short break route by far! The Ashby Canal is a picturesque rural 22 mile stretch of meandering waterway. It's complete length is lock free and is therefore ideal for first timers and those seeking a relaxing break.

Stop 1: Dadlington > Stop 2: Sutton Cheney > Stop 3: Shenton > Stop 4: Market Bosworth > Stop 5: Congerstone > Stop 6: Shackerstone > Stop 7: Snarestone

Atherstone

35 miles / 11 locks / 6 hours each day / 5 day return

Meander south on the Ashby Canal and onto the Coventry Canal at Marston Junction. Turn northward through Nuneaton to Hartshill, a historic British Waterways working yard. You'll also find The Stag and Pheasant and the Malt Shovel in Hartshill village - both fantastic food spots. Continue cruising until you reach the impressive flight of 11 locks at Atherstone!

Hillmorton

45 miles / 4 locks / 5 hours each day / 5 day return

A brilliant route with lots of canal-side public houses to visit. You'll cruise down the Ashby Canal as well as the North Oxford canal, passing through Hawkesbury, Newbold-on-Avon and then onto Hillmorton where you'll go through 3 locks before finding The Waterside Pub & Carvery.
