Measham Outfitting – 13th. December – Continuing Painting, Window Fixing and Preparation for Insulation
The large areas of the hull of the narrowboat have now been finished, i.e. have received the final/top coat of gloss.
The smaller, more intricate, areas are now being completed, along with the “livery” colouring which gives Ashby Boat Company canal boats their distinct appearance.
Note the roof area of the boat is not glossed but receives to coats of “floor” paint to provide a durable non slip surface, as the roof area is often used as a storage area as well as being walked upon from time to time.

The completed wooden battening being covered with strong tape prior to the interior surfaces of the boat having polyurethane insulation applied, more of this process later.
